Okay, I think I have a new guilty pleasure that goes by the name of Kesha. I was going through the Lollapalooza lineup and I saw KE$HA along the middle and I was like... "Who the fuck is that?" So, I did my research and found out she was the lady vocals to Flo Rida's "Right Round" -- I know, right? She's like this wannabe grungy glam-rocker tomboy from LA (via Nashville). I guess Flo Rida's label or whoever decided she wasn't cute enough to be in the official music video so they had some random bootylicious model to mouth her lyrics. Weak!! I would love to have watched her dance awkwardly and grind her ass all over him instead. She also did extra vocals in Britney's "Lace & Leather" on Circus, featured in Katy Perry's "I Kissed A Girl" video, and co-wrote The Veronicas' "This Love". She was just signed to a major label in February, so she's really riding the line on becoming big in the mainstream. I also feel like she's going to be featured on Perez Hilton anytime now... The only advice I would give to her is drop the '$' from your name and don't do that collabo album with 3OH!3. You could be the next Little Boots!
KE$HA's album is due later this year and I guess we'll see if she sinks or swim, but she does have some pretty good songs to back her. The very Lady Gaga inspired track "Tick Tock (P. Diddy)" is her first single which was just released. "Backstabber" is quality with a mini Uffie-esque rap which was featured on... ugh... The Hills. I told you she's a guilty pleasure.
